PUT IT TOGETHER!
This ring was part of my studies where we were researching classical jewellery settings. One of our tasks was to make a kind of jewelry piece with the setting as the main fragment of the composition.
My aim was to create transparency throughout my piece, as I wanted to make every part of it visible. In my ring a glass sphere takes the role of a classical faceted stone. This sphere magnifies the look of the skin where it touches its surface, resulting in an interesting effect. I wanted to enhance this phenomenon, so I created a 'setting' out of acrylic. The sphere stays in place as a result of wearing the ring.
The ring has three unconnected parts, which can be changed and varied depending on our preference.
